At first glance this piece seems complicated with lots of parts and tricky rhythms, but it is very repetitive and pretty easy to learn. It can also be easily adapted to suit any ensemble. The text is a joyous song of welcome. I had my boys do the d’jembe rhythm using a combination of chest thumping and hand clapping – very animal and aggressive – great fun.
