Of all the arrangements of this Korean folk song that I have taught over the years, this is by far one of the most endearing. With the additional instrumental parts, this arrangement creates a tapestry of sound that is pleasing to the singer and to the audience alike. Each vocal part spans one octave, from D-D’, features canonic writing, and a chance for the alto section to shine with the melody. This is a great selection for teaching expressive elements, line, breath support, and vowel and tone production, as well as listening to one another.
