Amavolovolo is available in SSAA and SATB arrangements, to be sung unaccompanied. The optional percussion parts are notated in the octavo. I have taught both arrangements and prefer the SSAA for younger middle school voices. The soprano parts can be sung comfortably by male changing voices, if needed at the octave.
Students enjoy the choreography and I prefer to used the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir performance to inspire my choir and to teach the movement sequence. We always added the percussion parts and, sometimes, I even notated a few more depending upon the size of the choir. I have used this selection as a choir finale with nearly 400 singers and so the extra percussion parts and choreography really made it come alive.
