Kenneth Jennings has assembled a lovely collection of Chippewa, Teton Sioux, Northern Ute, Yaqui, Papago, and Semniole traditional songs and has effectively maintained the original character of these tunes. The poetic texts conveys a reverence for nature and a respect for mankind. Wind, water falls, birdcalls, and drums are suggested in the intriguing piano accompaniment. A skillful pianist is needed to successfully perform these songs. An important addition to concert repertoire!
