The Banks of Doon is one of Robert Burns most famous poems. While Schultz’s setting is entirely new, it nevertheless is reminiscent of an old Scottish air. The flowing accompaniment is simple yet effective, and the violin obbligato is poignant and lovely. If you haven’t programmed a British Isles folksong for a while, this one is highly recommended.
