• Exquisite poetry using alliteration, imagery, a spring theme and lyrics to which adolescent girls can relate: “clusters of crocus/snowdrops so still/lift me up and lead me to the garden where love grows deep and true.”

• Lovely soaring melodies that fit together as a partner song. Is very effective with more mature sopranos and younger singers. I use this with my 7th and 8th grade girls on one melody contrasted with my 5th and 6th grade girls on the other. This is one of their favorites!

• A great addition to a program featuring women composers (Lucy Simon is the sister of Carly Simon).

• Tessitura is a bit high for sopranos but works well with the right group.
