The choral cycle Zimrei Chayim/Songs of Life, reflects the culture and language of three traditions: Hebrew, Ladino and Yiddish. The middle piece Durme, Durme depicts the gentle image of a mother rocking her child to sleep. In a simple, lilting c-minor setting, the Hebrew text speaks of forgetting worry and listening to the beauty of the Shema Yisrael, the central faith statement of the Jewish faith.
