A pambiche is a style of merengue originally known as the “Palm Beach one step”; the term pambiche is a corruption of “Palm Beach” that is popular in the Dominican Republic. This fun two-part arrangement by Juan-Tony Guzman is great for all ages and will immediately energize a room. It includes a lively piano and percussion part and there’s room for singers and conductor to create a fun dance routine to add one more dimension to the performance (seek out Maria Guinand’s performances of this for an example!)
