This lively, rhythmic piece is a fun closer for any program. The higher tessitura is great for children’s choirs or for tone building with an older middle school or high school group. The rhythms are tricky and have to be learned by “feel” more than count singing. Juan Tony Guzman is a professor of music at Luther College and is a great resource to tap to help strategize ways to get your singers feeling that jazzy, syncopated, rhythmic Latin beat. This arrangement requires a strong pianist and a good percussionist. Percussion parts are also included.
