Fanny Hensel (1805-1847) is primarily known because of her younger brother, Felix Mendelssohn. She was a gifted and prolific composer in her own right, but little of her work has been published. This grouping of three “nature poems” are from a set of six, and resemble in style the a cappella secular pieces of Mendelssohn.
