Typical folk song like lines make this a joy for the singers as well as the audience. This is a piece that has been around for quite a while but is starting to enjoy a lot of popularity recently. The piece needs very sensitive phrasing and has a little rhythmic divisi that seems to be a problem for some singers, otherwise it should come together quickly. There is a “g#” for Tenor I and an “e” for Bass II. Ms. Parker has left the Bass II out of the first phrase, probably to avoid the high “e”, but I think it adds to the haunting quality if they are left in and use light voice on the high part of the phrase.
