“In Remembrance” was composed in response to a tragic accident that took the lives of three people from one family. The octavo is written in their memory and dedicated to the surviving members of that family. Dr. Ames is Assistant Director of Choral Activities at Baylor University and is widely known for his compositions. “In Remembrance” is for SATB divisi, Horn in F and Piano. This octavo suits the events that are occurring in our world. In the words of Dr. Ames, the composition must “carry a message of healing, peace, and hope applicable to many situations and personal circumstances.” This octavo would be most appropriate for memorial services and other community events where serious, but uplifting, music is a necessity.
