I’se the B’y is a rollicking folk song which students will enjoy singing as they discover the meaning of the text and how it relates to the culture of Newfoundland. Voices sing verse one in unison. The addition of body percussion adds to the texture and is followed by a second voice part in verse two. The incorporation of duplets in the last verse requires continued thinking on the part of the singers, and the caesura at the end of the coda turns into a very exciting challenge as well!
