On a concert tour through Canada last year, my boys closed each concert with this Newfoundland folk song and were well-received by all audiences. This rather unconventional setting does a superb job of not only telling the story but of establishing the mood for each verse. As a two-part piece, there are still some tricky sections and a high alto part on one of the verses that may be best suited for sopranos. As a fabulous example of story telling, this is a perfect closer for any boy choir. (Easy – Medium)
