Another a cappella dance with percussion, this time some simple patterns for cowbell, shaker and congas. There is a small amount of Phanti (a West African language) text that is easily learned. The choir divides into six parts, and the cross-rhythms occasionally get pretty thick, but the individual notes and most rhythms are quite simple. The biggest challenge might be to get singers to use the aggressive, nasal tone and shouts approriate to Kpanlongo, “the dance where you shake your body all around.” Duration – 2:00.
