A “Kresnice” is a group of girls who travel from house to house, singing this harvest song of happiness. The seven short verses are sung in a very slow triple meter, with the refrain in a duple meter. The two groups overlap, with one beginning the next verse as the other reaches the refrain. This very accessible piece could easily be used as a processional.
