This piece is short, simple and full of warmth. After an organ introduction, the women sing a very fluid and memorable melody. After a brief instrumental interlude, the men enter with the beginning melody while the women sing a very interesting countermelody. The chorus sings in four parts with a few dissonances at the end of the piece. The piece closes on an unexpected but appropriate chord. The obligato treble line in the organ could easily be played by a flute or violin which would add more color in this gem of a piece.
