If you are looking for a piece to do with your men that isn’t just another sea shanty and could even include some easy choreographic elements, this arrangement of “Luck Be a Lady” is it. Eric Van Cleve cleverly turned this classic show tune into a Latin samba groove that really moves. Don’t be fooled, this piece is a challenge. There are a number of tricky key changes that can really help train those ears. After a dance break written in the band charts, the piece ends with a thick textured “vocal feast” that will have your men singing in 4-5 parts. Add in movement and a full band and you have something that could be a great way to teach young men about expressive, body-engaged singing.
