This classic bossa nova is originally recorded by Sergio Mendes and Brazil 66 and will be a hit at your next concert. Also featured in one of the Austin Powers movies, this song will be recognizable to your audience and will get them tappin’ their toes. The layout of the song is basically AB in form with a solo opportunity. The language is Portuguese with an underlying English translation. However, for true effect, use the Portuguese…it is not difficult and it is repetitive. The only issue with this piece is that the Portuguese is not written exactly where you say the syllables, so I would recommend you listen to the Mendes recording for placement of words. This chart is very accessible and your students will love it.

Instrumental parts for guitar, bass, and drums are included in the instrumental pak and a showtrax cd is available.
