A charming Haitian Noel written in Haitian Creole, which is like misspelled French. There is much text in this Christmas story, but the sopranos carry most of it while the other parts simulate the Haitian instruments, the vaccin and the manniboula. This is not a hard piece and a pronunciation guide helps with the textual challenge. A couple of complex rhythms will take some effort in a first look at the piece, but they are fun and the students catch on fast. You’ll walk out singing this one, and so will your audience!
