Like so much music from Musica Russica, this folksong is accessible to most choirs. The arrangement has a jaunty flavor despite the ubiquitous minor key of Russian folksongs. The men and the women have some bits of coy dialogue, and the piece has a nice range of dynamics for interest. The Russian is somewhat less difficult to approach than the church Slavonic found in the Music Russica sacred publications.
