This Spanish folk tune can be performed in a number of ways. My 6th grade choir enjoyed experimenting with it. We used flutes to double voice parts in a few places, a variety of percussion instruments improvised ostinato patterns, and solos and small ensembles took turns on verses. We combined the Spanish and English texts. The piece should be performed in a Iyrical and spirited manner at the fastest tempo possible with good diction and rhythmic precision.
