Here is a wonderful way to teach your choir men a wonderful and renowned Shakespeare text. Paul Brandvik does an excellent job of painting the text through use of articulation and rhythm. The first half of the piece is littered with multiple meter changes and active lines, moving to the chorale-like writing that brings the piece to its close. The ranges are well written for the singers, though low bass needs a good low E. The use of repeated musical material throughout will help singers get the musical language into their brains more easily. This is a solid addition to male chorus literature.
