Grammy-winning vocalist and composer/arranger Rosana Eckert sets this well-known standard in a medium up-tempo samba groove. With lots of unison and two-part writing balanced with a repeating 4-part pattern, this chart is a great introduction to Latin style for an intermediate vocal jazz ensemble. A written-out soli scat poses the most significant challenge and gives the chart more depth. No need to work much on facial expression or communication on this infectious tune – it brings a smile every time.
