This is a great learning tool borrowing from a classic blues feel and Jazz/Blues stylistic elements. A group as young as middle school could tackle this, and the advanced ensemble could easily spruce it up for a fun additional number on a program. It uses very approachable voice leading, and clear stylistic markings. If you are new to jazz, this is a great learning tool for you too! If you would like to add more solo/improvisation space, consider repeating the form and let your students improvise and trade fours from measure 5-21. A choral scat section is included in the middle of the arrangement as well. There are accompaniment recordings and fully-notated rhythm section parts also available for players who are new to jazz.
